A Bit of Island History – Man of Aran Cottage B&B: Eoghanacht, Co Galway

by | Jul 1, 2012 | Galway, Memorable Experiences, TV & Movies

Back in 1931, there was a film made called the Man of Aran. It was about a fisherman’s life on the island, and a wonderful snapshot into the way of life at the time, in this rustic place.

This B&B cottage was created out of other cottages for this film and is conveniently located near the hamlet of Eoghanacht, and Dun Aengosa, a stunning fort on a 300 foot cliff.

The hosts, Joe and Maura, are warm and welcoming, as is the peat fire in the main cottage. They are charming hosts, and happy to arrange things for you – bike rentals, rides to the ferry, etc. Please, come by and give this piece of history a chance to get into your heart and soul!
