Delicious Tea and Pancakes at The Strawberry Field: Blackwater, Co Kerry

by | Feb 20, 2013 | Food & Drink, Kerry

The Strawberry Field is a fantastic tea and crepe/pancake restaurant, just 4k from Molls Gap on R568.

We got there 15 minutes before closing, and had a much-anticipated afternoon tea with delightful, delicious, delectible crepes. We got several types of tea to share – Strawberry Vanilla, Blackcurrant, and Peppermint Tea. I ordered a lemon/honey crepe, Kim had a blackberry and crème crepe, while Theresa had banana and chocolate chip. I think the owner’s daughter was the delightful young girl who helped serve us – she was very earnest. There was art on the walls for sale by local artists, which lent the place a bit of flare. There was also a garden centre upstairs. Definitely a place I recommend. I can still taste those crepes melting in my mouth… mmmmmmmmm.

The place is nestled in the wilds, and looks miles from anywhere – and it really is. But that is part of the charm. It is WELL worth seeking out.
