Mass Rock from Ireland’s Penal Times: Cork, County Cork

by | May 30, 2012 | Cork, Religious Sites

The Mass Rock at this location commemorates one of the many places in the Irish countryside, where Catholics went to worship, during a time when religious persecution was rampant in Ireland.

People still gather here on very rare occasion to say Mass. The Mass Rock is not signposted, but from the main road, if you find the little walkway that leads down a grassy hill, you are in the right place.
