Treasure Hunting at the Kilkenny Car Boot Sale: Brownstown, Co Kilkenny

by | Jul 1, 2012 | All Markets, Arts & Crafts, Kilkenny | 2 comments

There’s a little bit of everything at this large car boot sale just outside of Kilkenny city (FYI – car boot in Ireland refers to the trunk of the car and a boot sale would be known in the US as a flea market)… clothes, antiques, housewares, tools, live chickens, meats, candy, and even “40 rolls of Irish toilet paper for €10!”

There are both indoor and outdoor stalls, so it’s an all-weather experience each Sunday. No one would commit to telling me definite hours, but you’re guaranteed shopping between 9am and 1pm. There’s a cafe serving full breakfast and snacks and patrons are required to pay €3 to park.
