The Only Round Tower in Antrim at St Patrick’s Church: Armoy, Co Antrim

In Armoy, on Glensheshk road, is a small church and round tower dedicated to St. Patrick. While it isn’t the largest church, it has a quiet serenity that is quite special. It is not far from the Dark Hedges, and worth a stop for some quiet reflection.

You can actually go inside this tower, and the surrounding countryside is a lovely view. This is the only round tower in County Antrim.

There has been a church here since St. Olcan, a disciple of St. Patrick’s, set one up in the 5th century.
