To the Top of Torc! Cimbing Torc Waterfall and Mountain: Killarney, Co Kerry

by | Jun 25, 2012 | Hikes & Walks, Kerry, Memorable Experiences, Nature & Gardens, Scenic Spots

Ireland guidebooks praise Killarney National Park and Torc Waterfall, but often fail to tell about the invigorating walk to the top of Torc Waterfall and Mountain. After observing the waterfall from the lower car park, the relatively fit may opt for the path to the left of the viewing area that many travelers miss. Up a well trodden trail and several steps, you will happen upon several expansive overlooks of the bustling town of Killarney.

For those looking for a little more adventure and the views to match, continue past the upper car park to the out-and-back walk of Torc Mountain. A great hike for picnics and panoramas, allow at least a couple hours with plenty of time for stops.
